Resources to Improve Your Communication

As I’ve become increasingly interested in communication, I’m paying more attention to how I speak, write and listen, the words I use and the questions I ask. It feels like communication is at the heart of all my conflict and connection to others—that 99% of conflict is the result of unclear, vague, soft and closed communication while 99% of my connection is the result of precise, honest and open communication.

Communication is a practice, a skill that can be improved. And if we can improve by changing the way we communicate and think about communication, does this mean we can resolve nearly all conflict and strengthen nearly all connection?

It’s a vast and overwhelming topic for me at the moment, and I’d like to share more thoughts on the subject with you in the future, but until then, here are some resources I’ve found to be useful on this journey. I’ll continue to update this list as I come across new resources.

COMMUNICATION RESOURCES

Procabulary — an online communications course centered around the power of words, created by Mark England

Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg

Difficult Conversations

Crucial Conversations

How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

Do you have any communication resources to share? I’m definietly interested in whatever’s out there. Hope this helps and wishing you well. I hope you enjoyed the read. If you did, please share it with a close friend and consider following the journey:
